What Are Dental Implants?

Dental Implants Surgery At Lansdowne Dentistry

Before we move forward with the procedure, our dentists will evaluate your oral health and determine if you are a good candidate. They will also take dental X-rays to see if the bone is healthy enough to support the device. Throughout your entire experience, we aim to provide you with as much information as possible through open and honest communication so you feel empowered in your oral health.

Implant Surgery

During your procedure, our dentists will make you as comfortable as possible and will include anesthesia to numb your mouth and gums. After, we will place a titanium implant carefully into your jawbone before closing the incision with stitches.

After the implant is secured in your mouth, you will go home and begin the healing phase. During this time, the implant is fusing with your bone which is called osseointegration. This may take anywhere from three to nine months depending on how quickly your mouth heals.

Following a successful healing period, you will return to our Lansdowne office where one of our dentists will attach the small connector post and place the custom-made crown in order to restore the appearance and function of your new tooth.
